Default C5 Airbag disable kit

Hi-

Bought the kit but cannot find the mating connectors to the harness supplied.
Any idea where to look?

Thanks

John

Which connectors? Are you trying to locate the passenger airbag "yellow" connector? If so, it is under the left side of the bag. The bag has a pigtail that hangs from the left side. Not sure if you can locate it without taking off the dash panel upper trim cover.

IF you find it let us know...... I have a 2000 Coupe and I could never find the 'yellow' connector plug.... Fletcher Chevy swore it was there but I had a former GM mechanic help me and I never got it to work.. Now if necessary I just pull the fuse.
Good luck

There are actually 2 yellow connectors which I believe control the switch (they are closed/open connections correlated with the key switch position). There is also a fuse connection (that I think supplies power to the "on/off indicator" display, and a grey wire (which I suspect is ground). The problem I have is that the instructions are not available as I was given the kit when I bought the car last month.

I will look under the airbag- thanks for the suggestion

Never installed one of these in a Corvette, but normally, there is a female and male yellow connector, that goes in line between the passenger air bag and a module (or switch). There also has to be a signal wire to the SDM to signal it that the air bag switch is turned to disable the switch. If no input, the SDM will signal the BCM to turn on the SIR light on the I/P.

Just a word of caution, make sure you disable the system prior to playing with the connectors. When you disconnect an air bag connector, a shorting bar is supposed to short the two terminals on the connector, preventing any spikes that could cause a bag to go off. Bags are very expensive, but more important, they can be very dangerous.

These pictures might be of some help in locating it.

AS I understand it some later models may have the connector on the driver side of the center console beside the radio.
