I had to replace the O2 sensors on my 2001 Coupe this morning. The drivers side is a pain to get at, but not too bad. However, the passenger side is a pain. The angle of the tap for the O2 sensor is rotated toward the frame which makes it almost impossible the reinstall the new sensor. The sensor hits the frame and the chance of cross threading the sensor is very high. It can be done, but not without a lot of cussing. My advice, if you do get the FLP headers, go ahead and buy two new O2 sensors and install them in the headers before you install them. May save you a headache in the future. :yesnod:
Re: Tip for FLP owners or future owners (jedicowboy)
Thanks for the tip. I am not far from purchase.
Another tip. Be careful with the new O2 sensors. I learned the hard way that they are kind of touchy. Try not to bang them around or you could have problems.
I purchased aftermarket O2 sensors from a local parts store. They have a much smaller profile and give you a bit more room with the clearance etc. ALSO....on the FLP headers, don't skip the step about using a spark plug thread chaser to remove the coating on the threads before installing the new sensors. Rather be safe than sorry for a couple of bucks.

Lucky you, the ones I got were the same size if not a little bigger. Good tip about the threads. Made my life a lot easier :yesnod:
