Torque Converter Lockup Problem Revisited

Did this problem ever get a definitive fix. I'm interested 'cause mine's been doing the same thing for quite awhile.
70 mph w/ cruise control on, and all of a sudden the TC unlocks and the rpm's go up ~400-500. this first happened going to El Paso on I-10 while the hiway grade was going uphill. Seemed like as the engine sensed a load due to the incline the TC would unlock, then lock, then unlock - you get the picture. My sig speaks for my mods; however, the TC and gears were done over 2 years ago - strange these would cause a problem after that time. I'm going to check the fluid level tomorrow. Would appreciate any input.
