Would heads be best to do it? If so, ported 5.7l heads or would you need the 5.3l heads? I'm just curious if the porting or the smaller heads is what you need.
Re: Best way to get 11.2 compression? (BQuicksilver)
I have LS6 heads and 11.4 compression. I never milled the heads! Go to http://www.cometic.com to get the number and order gaskets that are thinner than the .054 stock gaskets. If you have ls1 heads then go with the .025 gasket for 11.2 CR .030 for ls6 heads. Future head removal will be a beeze since these gaskets are steel and there is minimal cleanup. .02 thinner is the same as milling the heas .035 or so. The gaskets are in the 150 per pair range and there is no waiting time for getting heads milled. A full point in compression is about 14 HP.
