Default Need help on PLUGS AND WIRES???

It is time for me to change my stock plugs and wires. I want to know what the best plugs out there are??? Also wires?? I want the best and a little feed back would help me out alot. I also hear that they are not very hard to install so I was thinking of doing it myself.

If anyone has done this please give me a few tips on what to buy and if putting them in myself is a good idea. I'm no mechanic but know how to hold a screwdriver.

Thax alot

I got the MSD wires thru the forum mall and am very happy with them...plugs is a amtter of preference I am running the Bosch platinums but you will hear everyone rave about the TR55's so its up to you...about 30 minutes to do the job

Well, there's your first mistake already. You don't need a screwdriver to swap your plugs and wires. :jester

I'm currently using TR55 plugs and Taylor ThunderVolt 10.4 mm wires. Those wires clear my headers nicely. For easy plug swapping, I bought this Snap-On double-swivel socket.

2KVette, if you find a good local source for plugs and wires, please let me know. I'm also in the market for plugs and wires.

Thanks

In my experience if testing on three different vehicles, MSD Super Conductor wires have worked pretty well for me.

As for plugs, the TR55VX is a good plug for everyday driving but, I think it's a bit hot for cars that get driven hard. The TR6 is a better choice there. While NGK plugs are still good performers, in recent months, I've converted all my hot rods to the Denso Iridium Power spark plug which I think works better. For C5s, I suggest the IT20.

You can get the NGK Iridium Plugs(Part#7164) from www.rockauto.com for $6.22/ea...cheapest I have found.

You can get the MSD 8.5mm Wires(Part#32819) from www.summitracing.com for $50.95/set...again the cheapest I could find.

I just order both a few minutes ago...ended up being $114.36 shipped to my house for both.

Thanks for posting your sources & prices.
Those are significantly better than the prices I had found.
If I can't do better at Carlisle, I'll order from these folks.
