Will Underdrive pullies help idle on Fat cam?
Hey all... Just got my 98 A4 back -- ported Ls6 heads w/MMS V2.1 (229 .578" 114LS) cam. Tuning was apparently a nightmare (had to set idle at 1000rpms) & it cuts off at most traffic lights. I've been told driving will allow it to re-learn & hopefully improve in time. Does anyone have suggestions i.e. underdrive pullies, injectors, ignition, smaller cam (.224...

I dont think that the underdrive pulley is going to help that situation... sound like you need some more tuning with LS1 edit. :yesnod: Is there anyone in your area that can do it for you??

Who did your install and your LS1 edit?

I'm running basically the same MMS cam except on the tougher 112 LSA and have no problem idling at 900 with the proper tuning. Get someone who knows what they're doing to tune it for you. :cheers:

Come by and see us soon.. We have a brand new Dynojet 248 with a Wideband 02 and use LS1 edit to tune!!

I thought it would be tuning issue. I take my car to Breathless who has done a stellar job on my car since I've had it. The cylinder heads had some compatiablity issues but I think the problem is the cam. The car was not tuned on the dyno however which may be the issue. It is work in progress & the recommendation was to drive it for a while & later follow up. Breathless is located in Dania 30 minutes from me.

A4's are harder to tune with big cams but Brian at KPD is very competent in tuning big cams. He's got a lot of LS1 tuning experience and has that beautiful dyno to really map out the car :thumbs:

Should be easy to tune that cam with LS1Edit and someone who knows what he is doing (especially with an A4 car). That is the key!

It was a pleasure to meet you today Pete and hope that you are happy with your car now!!! You should notice that your car should idle a lot smoother now and have some more power from idle to redline.
