Default TPIS headers are installed ..now what?

i'm going to the track tonight. i added tpis long tubes friday. the cars running 12.40's in the heat of houston right now with 1.70's 60ft times what should i expect from the header mod. it seems to pull much harder in the higher rpms. 3rd gear pulls really hard now.... will i see any lower times ? maybe 12.20's????

If the heat and humidity don't hold you back I can see you running 12.20s. Heat those Nitto's up real good and let it rip.

i will drive down to the track around 6pm , let her cool off a bit then make 2 or 3 passes around 10pm when its a little cooler. the nitto's will take a spanking tonight for sure, you might even smell the rubber in the big apple.

....But what were your 1/4m times after the tpis install...?

Also did you install high flow cats and crossover pipe with your tpis install, (I'm guessing no, or you probably would have mentioned it)

I have a set of tpis with the high flows cats and crossover pipe just waitng to install myself. I'm thinking of just deleting the high flow cats, though, and just going with a straight pipe (off road pipe), along with crossover pipe, but I am undecided about whether to cat or not to cat. I probabaly will since I have already paid for them.

Does anyone think I should just delete the cats???

Also sorry to here bout the cobras ... where they mustang cobra's ?? With the stock magnason supercharger ??? Or where they the 60's era shelby 427 cobras???

Matt

they both were o3 cobra's with pulley's, exhaust, and tuning chips. they both ran 11.80's and 11.72. that was the first ones i seen run in the 11's. i will be very careful not to jump on all cobra's , some of them are real fast. yes i still have the cats on. 12.51 and 12.91@107mph. i ran faster on runflats 2 weeks ago without headers????? same 90 degree weather.?

18lbs in 315's nitto's , but it was slow last night. i have ran 12.40's in the heat of houston without headers. i run 12.50's on runflat's . the headers slowed me down a bit. but tuning should fix it .

you are scaring me Mitch, I just dropped mine off. They are doing the headers, along with plugs/wires, LS6 intake and the famous Vette Drs dyno tune. This thing better be faster.

18lbs in 315's nitto's. MC TORCH RED
Hey Mitch..Take 'em down to 15lbs. and do a looooonger burnout maybe 7-8 seconds..This heat requires some changes in technique.. :yesnod:

I'm dying down here in South Florida too with this AFRICA HOT heat . It DOES have an impact on the e.t....no doubt. :yesnod:

Don't worry Your doin fine!!

BTW...I haven't seen or raced a street Mustang Cobra I didn't slap silly on the track..even with their superchargers ..or even Nitrous!! They are just to heavy and awkward.

Don't you see the pattern there? Lower rpm launch=better 60' times  I would keep the launch no higher than 1400-1500 MAX!! I leave at just over the idle speed 1200rpms and I pull consistent 160-1.62 times.. Let the T/C do it's job!! Try it ..It works!!:ED
