Headers Explode?

Headers Explode?
Schwa?
Today I had the exciting experience of my headers inexplicably blow the EGR valve off. Put a nice little dime size hole in the pipe. What would cause this? I can't think of any reason as I'm not really running anything crazy, and the car was just putzing along at the time.
I'll post pictures later, but for the time being, should I be able to just weld it back on, or will I need a new header? :confused: :cheers:

Do you mean where the exhaust check-valve fitting is attached to the header? Could have been a defective weld from the header manufacturer.

Dave, get ahold of Al at Stainless Works and let him know what happened exactly. He will fix you up. Your headers have lifetime warranty on materials and workmanship.
