That's right I'm nuts. I was looking at my coupe and a friends convertible and I was woundering if it was possible. I'm a mad drag racer and have buit a lot racing toys in my years and my mind was running wild this weekend. Has any tryed or know of anyone that has done this to a C5? Thanks Dean-o
Re: Changing your coupe over to a convertible (DEANOSMOD)
Do a search on eBay motors for C5 Corvette in accessories. There's a company called C5 West that offers a hatch that replaces the stock hatch and rear window. The car has a "roll bar" left and small rear window, but with the roof off acts more like a vert. Otherwise, I'd trade my coupe in on a vert, with todays low interest rates. :seeya
Re: Changing your coupe over to a convertible (DEANOSMOD)
Yes, it can be done...
BUT, it's cheaper to sell it and just buy the vert...there are other advantages to buying a vert...you'll have better resale of a 'GM built Vert', the windows will have a relay to go down automatically when you put the top down...etc. I think Caravaggio may do this for $10-12k...unless your car is super-modded, I don't see the point...
