Sorry, I know its been beat to death but I still havent seen any concensus. So far, it sounds like the Stainless Works are the best way to go with a lowered car. Im looking for something that doesnt hang below the tunnel as I plan to lower my new car by cutting the stock bushings and I dont want to have problems with speed bumps. If I cant find anything, I may just go with Borla's shorties. Any thoughts???
Re: Best Headers for a lowered car????? (FLYNAVY30)
I agree with Dave. Scott, Sidestep here, has the Stainless Works system and it hugs the tunnel the best of any system I've seen - primarily because the cats are slip-fit and there is no flange clamp like in the FLP's or custom LGM's. It's a very nice-looking system but I would slit the tube ends to get them to seal better.
Re: Best Headers for a lowered car????? (FLYNAVY30)
I have found that the FLP's were well into the channel without hanging down any more than the stock exhaust... The flanges really didn't play much of a concern either...
True, but the new LGM production headers dont have the flange. Therefore, I wouldn't think ground clearance would be of concern.
I agree but I was referring to the custom setup. I've seen a pic of the production LGM's and they look sweet and should have improved clearance.
My FLP's do hang lower than my stockers did due to the flanges. It is an issue for clearance over certain obstructions like high-centering over IMQUIK's driveway.
Scott's Stainless Works were the sleekest I've seen to date. I'm sure others will follow suit.
I sure hope the LG production headers hug tight enough, I ordered a set last week. My car sits fairly low now, they do say they don't have the flanges so it shouldn't be a problem.
