Default Need help with erratic fuel pressure drop problem.

I managed to get my car to my tuners (75 miles away) after having erratic fuel pressure drops (see this original thread for symptoms http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=608963) now unfortunately they are unable to duplicate the problem.

On my small journey there the car dropped fuel pressure twice. Once in my driveway and once after making a left turn in my town. All while granny shifting and not getting any boost from my SCer. The remaining 75 miles were trouble free. Now as I feared the problem is not raising its head while my tuner has it.

He tested the fuel pump, voltage etc. and all appears normal. Now the car is throwing no codes so what is the next step. Process of elmination. They are currently going to follow and check every wire related to the system to see if there is a bad ground or something just not right (the car only has 6k miles on it and doesn't see much rain so I don't think corrossion is a problem). I am hoping they find something so I know what the problem is.

Continuing the process of elimination: Step 2 changing the fuel filter (6k on it but never know if its bad I suppose).

His thoughts and I agree for Step 3. The Racetronix fuel pump being it comes with new wiring etc. Its a nice upgrade being I have the supercharge anyway.

Now my concern is if after that I drive the car home and it does it again Im going to get sick. I am hoping they find a bad ground wire or something so I know for sure what the problem is.

Can any of you gurus supply any other input? If this was your car would this be your course of action?

Thanks in advance.

Shane
Don't have any words of advice, other than the fuel pump is not a bad idea. Good luck my friend. Sucks having our cars not right :( Bob is pretty sharp so hopefully he can figure it out.

Is it mainly on cold start up (or early in the driving) that this happens? Maybe Bob can start it every hour or so and see if it duplicates itself.

Hi Buckmaster.. Yes I'm sure Bob will figure it out but he as well as I would like to see what the problem is before just replacing things and not knowing 100% that the problem is being rectified.

As far as when the problem occurs. It does not discriminate. I can take it to the office one trip without a problem. The next day it will drop pressure 3 times the first mile. I would say most of the time its after the second ignition cycle of the day.

These cars are to smart for there own good. It is sitting over there acting like nothing is wrong with it. Maybe its personal between myself and it  (no im not really crazy).

Thanks!
