Not so smooth.
The car has 62k on it.
Is it time for a tranny oil/filter change?
What can be causing this?
Any suggestions are greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance,
cat..
A/T fluid change suggested at 50,000 miles when in heavy trafffic where outside temperature regularly reaches 90F or higher, or if driven in hilly or mountainous terrain, or Used in high performance operation.
In other words a fluid change wouldn't hurt.
Have you had any A/T fluid temperature warnings? Any transmission leaks? What is the condition of the A/T fluid, appearance, smell, contaminants, etc?
Has any "tuning" been done that effects transmission line pressure?
Has the PCM been replaced or any repair or adjustment to a component that directly affects line pressure? The items above can cause the Transmission Adaptive Pressure (TAP) to be reset. If so that information has to be relearned by the Powertrain Control Module (PCM), shifting performance is effected during the relearning time.
A scan tool can check on the TAP values to determine if the transmission has adjusted line pressure correctly.
Several other electrical and mechanical faults could give you this problem. You might check the service manual.
