Well, I'm picking up my C5 from Cartek in a few days and my next step is to add a roll bar. My local dragstrip (NED: New England Dragway) is about 30 miles away from me and it's a IHRA dragway. Since I should be in the 10's I'll need a roll bar. What's the difference between 5-point & 6-point roll bars/cages?
My criteria:
Removable Door Bar, Need to get in/out of the car w/o jumping over a bar when I'm not racing as I drive my car around town and on long trips.
Since I have a coupe I would like clearance for my top to be stored in the rear.
Over the winter I will be doing a mini-tub and upgrading my HRE 547's to 12" width, so I need clearance for the mini-tub.
We build our own bars in house with removable swingouts. The bar can be color matched to your car. We are not too far from Cartek. Give me a call with any questions. :seeya :seeya
The former moderator known as Mean Green had a roll bar from Chris@ECS in his car, and Mark didn't do anything half-azzed in the former car known as MG2k (R.I.P). That would be the best recommendation that you can get.
I have coupe with a wolfe but it was installed and tweaked by Chris at East Coast Supercharging (not too far from cartek). Vette Doctors in Long Island can probably arrange for you to get one as well as they have a quite a few cars with rollbars (5-6pt) and roll cages (10-12 pt).
Top storage is fine. I don't have tubes and don't know how it would affect the install.
