Well Wade and the guys have gone on a weeks vacation and the crew is scattered all over the place. Barry left his keys with one of the guys to wait on the truck to ship 6 motors and now can't run him down to see if they shipped which we hope they have obviously--ordered this motor first part of Feb and anything that could go wrong has slowed down the process, hopefully its on the way I guess if it is we will hear from the trucking company or it will be monday before barry can get into the shop to see whats happening, what is it 6 months now, at this age I may have to install a A4 to be able to drive the damn car by time the stroker is installed
Dang!!! What a saga !!! Well maybe this will give you more time to concentrate on your work rather than your car.
;) Right.
I wouldn't be able to work, eat, sleep or perform... :cuss
Six months is not too bad. It took MMS about 5 months to build mine. I do not understand why it takes so long for builders to assemble a motor. I know of a couple of people that took over a year to get their motors!!!!
I didn't have anyone nearby I felt could handle sleaving a block or anyone that wanted to attempt it. With ARE's rep I knew they could handle the job well I just didn't plan on it taking so damn long I should have had the car re-worked and running several months ago, Wade originally though he could have it to me in 6 weeks 8 weeks tops, considering how busy they are that seemed reasonable, then of course a couple of months ago it fell off the forklift while loading the truck and damaged the block and had to start over again, I'm sure no one was more pissed about that then Wade he had to find a new block and resleave and start again, I'm sure it will be worth it when its in the car, the wait is just a bit agonizing and I do wish I were closer so I could drop by occasionally and check on things. Thanks for the moral support guys---
Sorry to hear about this. I also have heard about ARE taking a long time once in a while. A south FL f-body owner took about as long as you have so far and now has oil use issues he's working with. I would imagine that when they get back from vacation you will get the call back and get straightened out. Bummer being as far away from the builder as you are for sure. I know Norris Motorsports has a local race engine shop doing the Darton sleeve setups for him and I think he has a 4-5 week build time right now FYI.
Alright well the block falling off the forklift bites but at least that makes sense to why it took so long. At the start of this post I was thinking that maybe I wouldn't want to do business with A.R.E cause of waiting periods
