Well, as far as corvettes go I am new to the dragracing is scene... I had a Camaro SS and had the drivetrain all built up with a 12bolt, DS, etc etc...
Anyways, when dragracing a corvette (M6) do thing tend to break as easily as they did with my Camaro? I had ET Drags on my Camaro, but don't want to go quite that radical. At what powers should I be worried about things breaking? My long term plans for my car include full bolt-ons, cam, and a bit of the juice, racin on some 17" BFG DRs.
Re: drivetrain - what the weak link? (GraveDigger)
from what I understand, unless your looking for 9's in the 1/4, the drivetrain on the C5 is pretty much bullet proof.. the only thing I'd say you need to change is the clutch...

:withstupid: I was going to say the clutch as well, the outshafts are fairly in-expensive if you are worried about those.
I assume from your profile you don't have a C5 yet, but either way I think the 01 and new MN6 cars come with a ZO6 clutch which should handle quite a bit of abuse.
It will take some abuse to get some really good times out of a 6-speed. The first thing to go will either be the clutch or the output shaft in the rear. When both of those are upgraded the next thing to go will either be the rear housing or the transmission output shaft. If you are running drag radials you should be ok for a while. Its when you start dumping the clutch at 6000 rpm's with slicks you are going to be going through some parts.. :seeya :seeya
