I first got my C5 in 98, I wanted to mod it. Low and behold remarkable gains for bolt ons. 30 hp for intake, 12 for exhaust, 10 for power programmer, 10 for MAF, etc. None of it is real unless under ideal situations in comglomerate with other mods and sometimes true bs to buy a product. Always thoroughly check with this forum first. I bought $2000 worth of mods in ignorance thinking I would get 40hp ended up with ten. :blueangel:
Thanks in large part to this forum I have been very happy with my mods to this date. The information posted here has kept me away from the snake oil and I have only purchased mods that have shown proof of hp gains on my tuners dyno. Thanks to everyone out there who shares real Corvette knowledge instead of just hype
Re: I remember when... to the newbies? (Vinzvette)
I use to see alot of "newbies" bolting on one thing at a time and then wanting to know how much hp did you get out that, and then one more and how much hp out of that, etc. It's hard to say individually when they all work together. I did my intake, headers and h/c and most everything else all at the same time and I'm proud of it, wouldn't change a thing, and the knowledge I recieved on this forum through it all helped make it all happen. I love this place! :)

Yep, I spent a lot on bolt ons.. At least they were meaningfull ones like Headers, Intake, Dual Disc Clutch assembly.. All were geared for the Big Ticket HP Mods to come. When they were on there by themselves... it did not amount to much though. :nono:

Buy everything you can afford and a few items you can not, then throw it all at the Z and see what sticks. That is the professional Chevrolet mechanic approach to waranty work, it should work for MODs. :jester
