Hi everyone. I just had a tune-up, got about 20 miles and my steering column locked up and had to be towed back to chevy. They said my solenoid burned out and that this is very common among vettes. Is this true? Cost me 400 bucks to have it fixed. Thanks. :nonod:

Yes, it is true. Do a search for CLB, column lock, column lock bypass or something along those lines. And yes, it is extremely common among vettes. Breifly, the column locks up with a solenoid as an anti-theft device, and when the column lock goes bad, the solenoid will not release, and the steering wheel will not turn.
