A new 2003 50th Ann with just 1600 miles. Clutch will not disengage drive train to allow gear change. Clutch reservoir is full of fluid so it's not the problem. The transmission will change gears when the enging is shut down but once the engine is running you can’t select any gear, if you leave the car in gear and try to start the car it will start moving forward. Has anyone had this type of problem with a C5?
Do a search and you will see that there have been lots of clutch problems. I had mine stick down once, but it came back up and I haven't had the problem since. Lots of guys are going with the Z06 clutch and components to correct this. Hope you get it fixed, Anyway TTT for ya.

:iagree: Good luck - as a note I went with the Z06 clutch.
Under what conditions does this seem to occur? During/after hard driving? I had several problems with stock clutch. I experienced very similar problems. In fact, when mine got really hot I could not push the clutch in. I never had the problem of not being able to disengage when the car was off though. If your throwout bearing has gone awry, it can cause the car to lunge forward when you think it is not in gear (or you think it is not engaged). If you up your hp, you will definitely have to upgrade the clutch.
UPDATE: Had the car taken to the dealership. They thought the problem was the clutch master cylinder, they replaced it and the problem remained. Next they pulled the clutch out only to find out that the pressure plate was not releasing, seems there was a broken part in the pressure plate. The dealer ship wasn't knowledgeable about replacing the clutch with a Z06 clutch and because it was warrenty work, we when with the same clutch. Remember this car had less than 1600 miles and has had no aggressive driving. The rear tires have never even been spun.
Just seems it was a defective part. SO GM's profit margin on this car isn't quiet as large as it used to be. :seeya
