erratic voltage
I received an alternator fault warning on my DIC right after starting up and have been watching the digital display of the voltage since then. It seems a bit erratic, changing a volt or two with nothing turning on or off, although I haven't been in the habit of watching this so I'm not sure if it's normal. I'm guessing that maybe it's time for new alternator brushes (55k miles, I hate buying a rebuilt alternator when it's generally only the brushes) or maybe it's one of the ground points.
Has anybody replaced the alternator brushes on a C5? Seems like it should be an easy job. Anybody happen to have a part number?
Can anybody point me to where the ground points are? I know this has come up but I haven't been paying attention.
