Throttle Body Install
Is BBK a good one or is there any other out there that are good?
Is it worth changing?
Looking to buy performance parts at Carlisle this year.
Need feed back, thanks Ernie :steering: :lurk:
I just bought a Shaner S2 Throttle Body and awaiting it's arrival. Here's some more info: http://forums.corvetteforum.com/zerothread?id=426642
Do a search for throttle body on here, ls1.com and ls1tech.com and you will get a lot of additional information.
Dont waste your money. You should save the money for something that will give you more gains like headers, exhaust, intake. I think the intake is the simplest and easiest first mod to get your car breathing. But Throttle body on a stock LS6 :nono:. Now take that money any apply it towards exhaust, not only wil you gain some power but it will sound a little meaner. Just my .02. Everyone has an opinion, so I am sure people will chime in.
PS. Dont buy the BS throttle body bypass either.

The F-body guys among some of the C5/Z06 owners give great reviews on the S2 TB. On the other end of the spectrum I have also read some negative posts about that larger (80mm) TB's.
I'm not saying to buy a TB or not to buy a TB. Just providing additional information.
However, when considering the Horsepower to Dollar ratio, there's definitely better bolt-on mods to do before even looking at the TB, especially on a bone stock motor.
If you are considering doing something with the TB, search some of the other LS1 & LS6 'boards. I believe you'll find that the BBK TB that you are looking at isn't a very popular mod. Some of the Vendors who sell it may even give you their opinion on it.
Of the people who are looking at the TB to make changes, many are doing a port & polish job. Shaner & Bauer are two guys that do this work very well, and if you run a poll on some of the 'boards, you'll find good feed back from their customers. Just additional info for you to think about. :chevy
