Which CAM for ATI setup?
I have tried posting this question before in the Forced Induction Section. Since this section seems to get more traffic, I will try here:
I have an ATI setup on a nearly stock Coupe. At this time, I have an opportunity to purchase an '02 Z06 cam for a VERY good price. Before I make the purchase, however, I thought I would post the question, is there another cam that I should consider?
Any and all recommendations are appreciated.

You need to read an article in this Oct. 2003 GM high Tech magazine about cams. They tell you things you never knew that applies to camshafts. especially when the application is anything but naturally aspirated. Since SC
engines cram more air and fuel into the cylinders than NA engines, you need to get rid of the hot spent gasses at a much higher rate. There are two ways to accomplish this. Either go to bigger exhaust valve or open the exhaust valve sooner, therefore you should go to a custom grind camshaft...and the grinder needs to know you are running a SC. They need to know how much your heads flow and how much boost you are going to run and the CR and Conn. rod length. what type of exhaust manifolds and intake...lots involved.
I only know of 2 people in the US who knows how to grind.

my car made 555 rwhp and 508 rwtq with the ATI and '02 Z06 cam, I would say that's decent for a mild cam :lol:
