My 2000 FRC has a electrical problem that affects the turn signals form time to time. Ocassionally, I will not have turn signals at all. It happens when I am driving, but not all the time. After the car sits for a while the turn signals work again.
Re: Electrical Problem with turn signals (Trey395)
If it's not the relay, it may be the turn signal switch. I had no rear brake lights on the right side. Everything else worked. Bulbs were good. The relay is cheaper than the turn signal switch, so check that first. I've seen a bad turn signal switch act in wierd ways. Some guys have turn signal problems, others have brake light problems. Seems to be fairly common also. Good luck- Scott
Re: Electrical Problem with turn signals (Trey395)
Thanks, I will try this the next time the turn signals go on the blink ( no pun intended). Kansas City is home for me so its good to get a useful tip from the home team.
When my car was in the shop the column locked on them so they did the recall. Now it does exactly what yours is doing. The blinkers work about half the time. The dealer said it was the relay which is part of the hazard swithc. You have to take the dash off. Mine's under warranty, but I didn't want to stick it back in the shop. Turn on the blinker and if it doesn't work then push on the hazards then take them off. I'm going to try the barely touching the hazard switch method mentioned above next time it happens.
