Hey Guys, quick question. Followed the decarb procedure to the T. Waited 12 hours, started engine, now check engine light is coming on. Is this normal? I definately placed top engine cleaner in the correct hole. Thanks for input!
Re: Decarbonization process now check engine light. (RoadVette)
It is normal after you start the car and get all the cleaner out of the motor for the check engine and O2 light to come on. Shouldn't last long. If it is prolonged "after a couple drives" then there is something else going on.

same thing happened to mine after I did the decarb ,02 sensors went nuts .Just clear out the codes on your DIC and it should be good to go .Make sure you change that oil too ,P.S did you neighbors like the cloud of smoke  I left a trail of smoke for miles

Checked for codes, no codes. I will change the oil and run the car a little longer. I will post if anymore questions.
Thanks for the input-I love you guys, but don't tell my wife, she has been waiting to hear those words for quite some time. :)

Seems I remember having the same issue, it was due to idle RPM being too low I believe.
Engine heat cycle cleared the problem. You got to think about just what the decarb process does and you'll understand how it can drive the engine management sensors nuts for awhile.
I bet it'll clear on it's own. Seen it several times before.
