Default Traction Control Problem

Hi Guys,
I have a 98 Coupe with Z51 and no active handling, just the standard traction control. It does have a Carroll supercharger setup and ~450 hp.
I have experienced an intermittent problem with my traction control. When the rear wheels start to break loose and the traction control kicks in, it sometimes goes into limp home power mode with a display that says, "service traction control" and a dinging electronic warning bell. It stays in limp home until I shut the car off and restart it. Then it's fine.
This seems more likely to happen if the back end is sliding rather than in a straight line. This happened to me three times during a track day yesterday. Annoying and dangerous. Interestingly, my search on traction contol turned up a post from teeceemv who indicated an unexpected traction control mode on uphill right hand turns. All three times this happened to me yesteday was on a fairly sharp uphill right hand turn. Maybe there's a correlation. Almost sounds like a specific flex in the body causing a ground problem or intermittent contact. When this happened previously, I was able to prevent it by turning off the traction control. Yesterday I turned off the traction control after the second time, and it still did it.
Prior to yesterday, I had had no codes associated with this condition. Today I do have a couple that may be related. These are history codes only- no current. These are TCS -C1278(H) TCS temporarily inhibited by PCM. I think that's just a sporty driving adjustment- correct me if I'm wrong.
10PCM -P1571(H) ASR desired torque
-P1644(H) Deliverd torque output circuit. I don't know what the ASR is, or whether these might have any bearing on this.
I would certainly appreciate any help from from you experts out there. I am hesitant to sign up for any more track days until I get this solved, and there are some uppity BMW's and Porsches out there who need to be taught some respect.
;)
Thanks, Thatch
