There is no adjustability in our stock rockers, so yes, you can remove them without adjusting later.

that is absolutely correct, just re-torque to the proper spec when you are done. Make sure you put the rocker guide back in place, as you can really mess things up if you overlook it, even temporarily.

The proper way to do it according to the service manual is to spin the engine such that the rocker arm you torque has the valve fully closed. This way the spring pressure won't effect the torque reading.

When I did my H/C swap, I followed jmX's recommendation and torqued the rockers to spec, spun the engine by hand 720 degrees then another 360 degrees and retorqued. A few of the rocker bolts tightened slightly, but this could be a results of the stronger springs. I would bump the engine with the starter to be safe, paying attention to the valves that are open the most, making sure they close. It won't take much time or extra effort to do this. I would recommend using locktite on the rocker bolts also.

The whole process is pretty simple and shouldn't take you more than 2 hours.

It's easy to check everything out without worrying about whether or not you spun #1 to TDC. What I did is modify the 24mm socket in the pic below. It fits on the pulley bolt without having to move the steering rack. I can use a 12" wrench to turn the motor over easily, even with the plugs still in, with the socket. I have the pulley marked for TDC. I turn the engine until piston #1 is at TDC and follow the manual's procedure for torqueing the rockers. No muss, no fuss.

Patches, now, what is TDC:D? I am still learning since I just got G5X-2 cam installed so in the future I will have broken springs or bent pushrods.
Your socket is really cool. Can you make me one:D?
