Default Anyone Install the DRM Brake Ducts Recently?

Getting ready to order the C5 brake duct. Just curious to know if DRM is including instructions now and if a lot of cutting is involved?

Just installed mine about two weeks back.

Instructions and decent photos are now included. You have to cut your factory ducts (picture and measurements included), and you have to hack up the fiberglass backing plate where the duct used to exit quite a lot to fit the new piece properly.

The ducts now mount with a small screw that goes in the outlet of the duct, the hole for which you drill in the frame of the car with a small drill bit.

There are also two small screws to hold the DRM duct to your factory duct, and the new mold slips around the OE duct quite nicely. Everything in there is rock solid - it's not coming out unless I drive over some logs :jester

Work great, too, and they only *just* barely rub with my Z06 wheels at full lock.

Took me about 3hrs to install them, being extremely meticulous to get a nice, clean install.

-Jake

FEI, those ducts do not work on a car with OE ride control. I know Chalkys car is a Z06 so he does not have that problem.. Just posting a heads up here... ;) I purchased a set and hacked up the car to install them only to find out that they didnt work on my car... :cry

I just installed the ducts on my car...a 2001 coupe. I didn't think the instructions where that great. When you cut the OE ducts down, they do not slide into the DRM ducts. You have to cut slits in the OE duct to get them to fit inside the DRM ducts. Also screwing the ducts together is a dificult chore, I found that wrapping them with duct tape worked better. Would be nice if DRM included a template to figure out how more to widen the hole for the DRM duct..trial and error. Have some patience when you do the job!

Because the freaking accuator is right in the way of where the ducts go... :cry

I am going to take a look at the ducts by WCC. A little more but if the fit is better without the cutting, it would be worth it. Now if they will just respond to my emails.

Ride control = F45. I had a talk with DRM about a year ago and concluded that their brake ducts would not work on an F45 car due to a component being EXACTLY where the ducts go. I suggested they note that problem in their product description. I don't know if the new magnetic shock setup has the same component in the same location.
