...GM's Z06 'plastic' intake manifold or an aftermarket aluminum version such as Holley or Weiland? What are the + and - of the aftermarket model...weight? ability to polish, etc. I am planning to upgrade my LS1 with heads, cam, etc. and was going to do the manifold as well to allow it to breath better.
The ls1 manifold is cheap (free) and lightwieght (plastic).
The aluminum manifolds are heavier (aluminum) but can be ported and modified are usually worth only a few hp unported.
You're level of mods will most likely detirmine which manifold you choose. Your stock manifold paints nicely and will flow enough to support the very basic bolt-ons and minor h/c upgrades...if I'm not mistaken.
