As a new poster, I am curious about all the excitement about LG headers. Why are they soo good. Are they coated in and out? Are there clearance issues? Can TPIS, Belanger and FLP'S hold there own. If they're that good, I want Them!!!

Quality and they work! They are SS but could be coated if you want.

 

What would be the advantages/disadvantages of coating (like the FLP's) vs not coating????

 

When headers are made from Stainless steel, there is no need to coat them. The heat transfer properties of the stainless tend to keep much more heat inside the tubes, rather than radiating the heat out.

The main positive points with regard to our LG Pro Long Tube headers are as follows:
** 32" long Primaries 304 Stainless Steel construction. (32" as recomended by GM racing for the World Challenge cars)

** Race style 3" Merge Collectors. They broaden the torque curve and help scavenging.

** 3" stainless X pipe rather than the usual 2 1/2" of other brands, if they have them at all.

** 3" Mid/Rear pipes all the way to your muffler flanges, making this a full bolt on replacement so you can keep your stock system in tact for future use.

** 3/8" flanges at the engine for positive sealing.

** Available with Random Metal Matrix cats or as an off road version. Your choice.

** Regarded as the "Most powerful headers for the C5" based upon the total power under the curve, and tests that show not only higher torque, but slightly higher hp numbers at the peak when tested against other brands.

Plus you have these LG Motorsports designed headers being built for LGM by Borla on an exclusive private label basis.
And for 1 more week, they are still on sale for $1495 for the complete catless system. pr $1995 including the super Random Metal Matrix cats.

I know that there has been plenty of info on these headers over the last 18 months, but some of the new members may not have been around for the whole time that these were in development.

They're the best out there. Period. I had Lou remove my FLP's and install his LG LT Pro's. Hope to notice the difference sometime this week!
