I just perchased a ls6 intake.. What kind of performance gains will I noticed after intalled.. What intake gaskets? ls1 or ls6? Ed Wright tuned my car already, will it need to be tuned again? Any advice before I tackle the job? Thanks.. :steering:
I have the Halltech Tric, Yank 3200, FLP no cats. with Borla, ED Wright Tuning.. Last 1/4 time was 12.17 at 110, 60' day... Im hoping with the LS6 intake I might dip into the 11's???? What do you think????

It will make a small difference, but not until you reach 50-55mph. I have two friends that both bought vette's together and always ran side by side in the 1/4. One day we installed an LS6 intake manifold on one but didn't tell the other guy, and sure enough he edged him out by about 1/10 maybe a little more
Approximately 10rwhp can be gained by the LS6 intake upgrade. I didn't baseline my car before I did the install so it is difficult for me to say exactly. The performance shop that did the install for me said they see 10rwhp increases on stock cars.

others HAVE dyno'd theirs, including myself, and we saw ZIP, NADA, NOTHING :)....it's a WASTE of money unless you go with a cam, heads, or bigger cubes now or down the road
Okay if you vette is a 99 or older you well see a gain..the newer vettes have the ls6 intake in them stock...now if it's you only mod you might pick up 1-2 rwhp...but if you have a complete exhaust headers intake, and mybe a cam..you well pick up 8-10rwhp...good luck
P.S: it must add rwhp..or why else did chevy put the ls6 intake in all 2000 and up vettes......

No :D...they started adding them in 2001 and it's laughable that you thought I would replace an LS6 intake with an LS6 intake and state that I got no gains :D
Most get a solid 10hp. I've done a base line and after same day, as well as seen many others with about the same gain. Is that worth the price and time of install? That is up to you. Will 10HP make your car much faster, of course not.
I think this is a good mod if you plan to do other things to build on it. Seemed to smooth the car out a little, and small top end gain. These as well as slightly better MPG might be the reason it became a standard part.
