Climate Control/HVAC Controller Loses Power...
I have a 97 Corvette with the standard/manual 3 **** climate control system (not the dual zone auto climate control). Recently I started losing power to the controller intermittently...in which I would lose all power in the controller, including the rear defroster, recirc, A/C, etc... Just to reiterate, when the controller would black out, I lost everything! No A/C, no Heat, nothing! In the beginning, it was rare, usually just when I initially started the car...then, it started blacking out in the middle of operation, but when I hit a bump in the road or I gave it a little love tap on the dash it would come back on...strange! Figuring I had merely a short in a power connection on the back of the controller, I pulled apart the dash and checked all connections...didn't help. Now it seems the controller is DEAD! No intermittent power...nothing. I've checked fuses and they seem to be fine (unless I'm missing an indirect one). Please help! Its hot in my neck of the woods! :cry Your suggestions are greatly appreciated! I fear I bought a money pit!
