oil consumption under hard decelaration
Most people doing the PCV mod only takes care of half of the problem by getting rid of the oil going through the PCV valve. The problem is that you get as much oil and sometimes even more oil through the fresh air inlet to the passenger side valve cover.
The fresh air comes from a tube going to the throttelbody, this design was made to save a few cents by not adding a extra filter and use the airintake filter instead. Braking/cornering hard pushes a lot of oil to the front of the cover which goes to the throttelbody and get sucked in to the cylinders.
It's very easy to check if this is the problem. Plug the tube going to the throttelbody and attach a small valve cover breather filter to the passenger side valve cover. Drive for a week and see if your oil consumption have changed.
I have plugged both the throttelbody and the PCV valve. I attached a small valvecover breather to the passenger side valve cover and have a small electrical vacuum pump connected to the valve cover on the drivers side creating the neccessary crankcase vacuum. On the outlet side of the vacuum pump I have a small Moroso tank separating the oil from the air. It works very well, never a single drop of oil in the intake. The only thing to remember is to empty the Moroso tank periodicaly.
