Default cartek dynoed my 98

This sat they did a little tuneup (plugs & fuel filter) on my new (for me) 98 six speed coupe. Bone stock. Stock filter and all. It got 302 HP and 322 Pounds of torque. I am scanning the dyno sheet now. Is that normal for a stock C5? I was pretty pscyhed to have over 300 and have yet to do anything.

Anything over 300HP is REAL GOOD! Mine makes 326HP with mods listed below. Have fun modding!

I also just bid on a zo6 exhaust on ebay. So that will be the first mod.

Was it a Mustang dyno or a Dynojet ? The dynojet tends to run 5-8% higher than a Mustang - that is why I ask. If it was a Mustang dyno 300 rwhp would be very respectful for a stock C5. The performance shop that dynoed my car said they typically see 270-280rwhp on a stock C5; they have a Mustang dyno.

Regards,

Mark

I disagree about the Mustang versus Dynojet Dyno's. My 2000 was much higher on the Breathless Dyno (Mustang) than one a Dynojet. about 22 RWHP as I remember.

Curiously, the two dyno's were very close when I dyno'ed my '02 Z06.

The important thing is that the quoted number is SAE corrected. There can still be wide variations as noted and discussed on this forum dozens of times.
