Well we finally got to take apart my car after the breakage this past weak end. Only to find out that I took out the rear and the tranny. The cases on both units were cracked it is not looking good. Even with the Yank system that is in the works, I have my doubts about using the spray out of the hole. I didn't even get one pass in on this tranny.
Sorry to hear about that. I always enjoy reading about you guys with the really fast cars. As people tend to say on the Forum, "Ya gotta pay if ya wanna play"...but man, some of this stuff sounds awfully expensive in both money and time. Good luck with the fix...you have an awesome car.
dude, just look at the pic in ur sig! obviously ur car is putting out too much power to hit off the line. something has to give way and things begin to break. get her fixed up and if u dont upgrade to super bullet proof indestructible parts then go easy on her. run ur best run on the best weather day and then lay off her. this way u know ur best
Sorry to hear about the breakage. I showed up to the Challenge late, and was upset to hear you had broken, I really wanted to see your car go. You've been waiting for this a long time, and I'm sure it'll be worth it once the car is running right. Have you thought about running a stock output shaft? That way, if you're going to break, at least you'll break something cheap. Just an idea.
PAUL IT SOUNDED AWSOME BEFORE IT BROKE! :smash:
YOU AND THE VETTE DR CREW WILL FIGURE OUT A WAY TO GET THAT POWER TO THE GROUND-I CANT WAIT :lurk:
I SAW ALL THE BROKEN PARTS TODAY-GOOD JOB
WE STILL MADE THE BEST OF THE DAY AND YOU
WERENT AS PISSED OFF AS ID BE-NEXT TIME
JOE
Thank's guy's
I really wasn't that upset I expected to break but I didn't think it would happen on the first run.
The Yank system is going in, I hope that the new setup will be a lot stronger and may be this convertor will absorb more of the shock of the line. We will see. :D
Sorry to hear you lost both the differential and the transmission :( The Yank TH400 will hold over 1000 rwhp and rwtq, but the whole thing costs about $5800 and you only get three gears. If one has higher gear ratios like 3.73 or higher, highway driving would suck azz; 3730+ rpms at 75 mph. If you do go the Yank route, you might want to have a spare 4L60E around to swap out for the Yank when you are not at the track. Then again, the TH400 with the trans brake would make traffic lights a lot more fun :reddevil
Guy's
The Yank system is going in as we speak should be ready for the Quick 4.
The install is not as easy as Mike made it out to be the whole tranny tunnel needed to be modified to fit the shortened tube. I hope it works. We didn't go with the trans break because it is only avaible with the manual valve body & I don't feel the car would be able to handle it anyway. I will be sure to keep you updated on the install.
