Default Wheel and Sensor Question...

I have a '99 Vette...with the wagon wheels...the '99 uses the GM part #10438853 for the wheel sensor...

Ok...If I go to the polished Y2K thin spoked wheels...I'll have to also upgrade my wheel sensors to the GM part #25731358 ... RIGHT?

Thanks,
TIM

Nope the 02 sensors only work with the 02 and up PCM's.
You need to find 02 wheels that have been machined to accept the 97-99 sensors. Most of the aftermarket 02 wheels come already machined. Check with the wheel vendor before you purchase!
Best of luck to ya,
Tim

Sorry...but you lost me with the "02 sensor"...

are you saying that I'll have to find the Y2K Thin spoked wheels that have been machined to fit my existing wheel sensors...the ones for my '99...

Thanks...sorry if I'm a little slow...a little new to this...

You used the original sensors that came with the '99 vette?

all you have to do is transfer the sensors from your 99 wheels to the polished ones. make sure to use new o-rings (for the sensors) when you do the switch.
note: if you put the sensors back to their original corners you won't have to reprogram them.
