Default Breaking in the Brakes

I am installing a set of DuraStop Ceramic Pads and Drilled and Slotted Rotors (yes, I know, prone to cracking, yada, yada, yada; I just think they look cool with my red calipers). Is there a breaking in procedure? I remeber reading a thread about this, but can not find it.

Just installed the same set-up a few days ago. Haven't dirven the car much, but noticed some amber color residue forming on the rotors. I hope this will go away after some period. Let me know if you experience the same thing after your install. Yes they do look good and as soon as I can figure out why they look discolored and what's causing the pedal pulsing I should be satisfied with them.

Did you go through the bedding procedure described in the thread above?

Sebrock, when I installed my Eradispeeds, I used my stock pads which only had about 2K miles on them. I was going to swap in the new Hawk pads I have and do the bedding procedure but decided not to because the stockers were so new and work well.

I would follow the procedures to a T if you want the best outcome. :yesnod:

I've heard such bad things about all these brakes cracking - my mechanic just replaced some on a Lingenfelter that cracked his racing at Summit Point, WV - I hope I din't sacrifice racing safety and performance for looks.
