If I keep draining the oil from the catch can, then it will fill some oil to a certain level after the first day. But if I keep the oil in the can, it will stay there at that level for days.
Is it because at some certain level, the oil will get bumped back?
Thanks,
I have a similar situtuation with the in line oil strainer PCV mod on my 99 coupe that a lot of guys have installed . Once it gets teaspoon of oil, it never seems to get any more. The filter looks clean etc. so I'm at a loss as to why this is occuring.
Re: PCV mod - oil catch can question (C5 StockSwap)
I don't have an answer, but I have been watching all posts regarding the PCV mod and almost put one in. I bought the in-line filter but haven't installed it since I went to Bowling Green last June and put on 6500 miles and had a quart ready to put in but never required it. Before that trip it seemed that I was burning about 1/2 quart every 2K which is not enough for the ring job but enough to irritate me. But since the trip it hasn't been an issue. Around town I find my rpm's are higher and probably contributed to the oil burning. I certainly hope you guys get the answer your looking for. It will be an interesting one.
I have the campbell hausfeld air comp air filter on mine. I removed the inner filter from the housing. After I got back from a racetrack with about 60 minutes of running the car hard near redline at every corner, I looked at it and saw it was nearly full to the top! I forgot to check it at the track. I don't know if this is because I removed the little filter or not.
Re: PCV mod - oil catch can question (YELLOWDREAMZ)
I too run the C H air filter with the filter element removed. I trap alittle oil doing normal hiway driving. To me it is a mini catch can cant hurt & it traps oil that would otherwise end up in the intake.
