Default Big Brake Kits?

I posted this in the Events forum by mistake, sorry. Any way, I have been considering uprgrading my brakes with larger rotors. I have been considering going with 14" rotors. I have after market wheel 18's & 19's so I think it will work. Can I use the stock calipers with the larger rotors, or do I have to change everything? I do not do much racing to speak of so it is more for appearance than anything else. Looking for suggestions/ opinions, THANKS. :skep:

I was going to do this too, but then the reality of it sunk in. The cost of these kits would represent close to 25% of the value of my 97 right now.....not good money management if you ask me.

Give it a month or so - Wilwood is very close to releasing their big brake kit for Vettes. This is step two to the brake upgrade they recently released.

Check out the Stop Tech 14" rotor, 4 piston caliper, front and rear setup. I believe this is what Farmer used to win alot of races.

They're all rather pricey. The most "cost effective" 14" rotor that will work with the stock calipers that I have found are the Baer Eradispeed +1.

In all honesty, they are really no better than stock. You just pay a hefty premium for the "bling bling".

LGM has some really nice Wilwood's coupled with DBA rotors for under $1700 (front AND rear) if I'm not mistaken.

Amen, Svenodin. I'm getting over the drilled look real fast. I can paint the rusty portion of the stock rotor for cheap and still get some bling-bling. When you think about it , it's just the freakin' brakes. I'd much rather put that kind of cash into a supercharger or ?? the C5 stops pretty damn good right out of the box IMHO.

I dont know of any 14" rotors that look good and are low cost. If you want great looking rotors at a low cost, buy the zinc plated, cross drilled and slotted baers.

Hi,
Our web site is not always up to date, so see below.

You can use the Wilwood 2 peice front rotors with our Wilwood 6 piston caliper set up for only 1699 for the front, or $1949 for the kit including the matching 1 piece rear rotors.

The kit includes the Wilwood 2 piece front rotors, 6 piston calipers, SS brake lines, Poly matrix brake pads and all the hardware to complete the installation. Plus the rear matching rotors for an additional $250 when purchased with the fronts.

Or you can get the set up like the bottom photo, and use the 1 peice DBA rotors, in either drilled and slotted, or just slotted. Fronts only=$1499, for the kit including the front 6 piston calipers also. Add $200 to include matching rear DBA rotors.

If you are confused, just give me a call at LG Motorsports 972-272-7753.

Thanks
Lou G

These are the Wilwood front rotors that can be used with our Wilwood 6 piston calipers below

below is the wilwood matching 1 piece rear rotor

Below is the LG Motorsports Front brake package with Wilwood 6 piston calipers and DBA rotors.

Going with BIG BRAKES was the most dramatic mod I have done. Even more impressive than the 700+ hp I have. Running 275mm tires up front it really puts you through the windshield. There is NO comparison of the stock brakes against my aftermarket setup.

Not quite finished painting...

Proportioning valve...

New sale pricing no minimum orders required and Stainless steel brake lines included for $3399 for the complete front and rear package from Wilwood. I have been an OEM WD for Wilwood since 1995 and I do not have to "buy in" with Wilwood, So I can offer this special pricing with NO MINUMUM orders.

I will ship as each order is taken, and will ship the same day. This package is different than my own package in that the rotor has more offset to fit the stock wheels. It is slightly more expensive than my LGM G stop package but I am more than willing to give this offer to the Corvette Community for a limited time.

You can place your immediate order at LGMotorsports at 972-272-7753

Thanks
Lou G
