Does anyone know of the correct lifter height? Just want to make sure my lifters are not sticking...
The reason behind this is that I have piston to valve clearance issue and nothing adds up. The heads checked out, the cam was checked out ok, pushrods were of shorter length, but it is still hitting. So I need to check the lifters now.
The roller tip should roll from the inside 1/3 of the valve stem top to the outside 1/3 of the valve stem top and back in the process or lifting the valve. So a valve at 1/2 specified lift should have the rolling tip just as far to the outside as the rolling tip is at full open and full close. The lifter length is chosen to provide this geometry.
