WILL THIS X PIPE WORK?
have a stock header z06 with stingers and was wondering if this x pipe will work for me
sicne isnt the z06 3 inch all the way through?

Well, I suppose you could have an exhaust shop make it fit, but why? MTI sells an x-pipe for $199 specifically designed for the stock 2.5" exhaust. Or, go with the Xtreme C5 Crossover from Xtreme Motorsports: http://www.xmotorsports.com/exhaust/ (near the bottom of the page) for only $119. I'm going to put the Xtreme on mine in the next couple of weeks, it's about the least expensive x-pipe I've been able to find.
To answer your other question, no the Z06 and all c5s are 2.5" exhaust tubing.
