Most car magazines have the car between 5 and 4.7 secs. I don't know about anyone else's experience, but I think it's hard for a stock coupe or vert to easily get to 4.6 secs.

Most of the road tests on MN6's have been around 4.6. I have many road tests, if it's of concern (like to win a HUGE contest) I can look them up, but I'm pretty sure that's were they have been.
NEWS FLASH - couldn't stand it. Just looked up one. Car & Driver August 01 did a 4.5.
Car and Driver always has the most agressive times, Automobile the most conservative and Road & Track is down the middle. Their most recent road test of a MN6 50th anniversary coupe was 4.9. Their test of the 2001 Z06 (385hp) was 4.6.
I would like to see someone get 4.5 on a stock coupe.

Anybody who's ever ran a 13.1 in a stock coupe with a decent 60 foot time has probably achieved that number. Especially if the dip into the 12.8-.9's.
A general rule of thumb for rear wheel drive cars with decent gearing/traction is this: 0-60 5.0 seconds = 1/4 in 13.5 seconds
For every .5 second saved in the 0-60 run, divide it in half and subtract it from that 1/4 mile time above and round down.
0-60 4.5 seconds = 1/4 in 13.20
You'll find most car mags are within 1/10 of my estimates. This general rule of thumb is VERY general-but as accurate as most other armchair racing...
I did 4.65 secs 0-60 with a Blackwing but using the standard runflats at normal street pressure. Better tyres would give you a better launch off the line and a lower 0-60.

My best 1/4 was 13.58 , my best "g-tech measured" 0-60 was 5.05 :jester
So the formula seems on the mark for my car anyway. :steering:
I'm doing 0-60 in 4.5 secs and the 1/4 mile in 12.75 and I've got about 380HP in the car. This is with some pretty agressive launches; I just don't see how a stock coupe can get that same 0-60 time without a proffesional driver trying 10 times on a track until he gets it right. I think most people with stock coupes are doing 0-60 in a bit below 5.
I find the problem with the C5, and where the Z06 is much better, is below 2000RPM it is a pig. Without a good launch the car always gets 5 secs. Another problem are the run flats, today I did 0-60 in 4.7 secs, spinning my wheels all the way up to 52 (my shift into 2nd). I think that my car could probably get to 4.3 with better tires that actually grip the road.
My best bone stock with 2500 miles on the car and the runcraps was 4.61 on the Gtech.
I haven't tested it on a good road since I've had the few mods and diff tires on. Plus, it grinds on the 1-2 shoft cause my synchros are worn (gotta take it in soon under warranty, hopefully)
I'll check back once I have the synchros fixed and I find a good sticky, clean, vacant road.
Funny, I got a 4.66 with Blackwing and standard runflats on my '02 6spd Convertible. I also got a 13.1 1/4. Timing using a Passport G-Timer.
I still haven't beaten my '69 Stingray's 4.60 0-60 time...and that runs $46 Yokohamas!

According to GM on the official Corvette website, a 2003 Coupe was 4.6 seconds, and a convertible was 4.7 seconds, the coefficient of drag for those two is .28 and .29, the vert top is just not quite as slick go figure, the drag doesn't come in until right at the end of a 60 run and definitely plays more on a 1/4 mile. Out of curiosity, those of you that are doing sub-5's with stock or near stock vehicles, at what RPM do you launch and do you pop the clutch or minimize wheel spin?....I have the ole G-tech and actually have not tested since installing my intake. But my best [blah] was a 5.4, and the only Gtech quarter I ever ran was 13.94 at 108...tips guys gimme tips

That 4.6 on a stock Coupe can't be with a 2.73 rear end. With the 2.73 I have always been told 4.9 is the realistic time on a stock Coupe.

Interesting. I had an 01 coupe, and now a 03 Convertible. They both have the exact same mods and tires (to the point I took the mods and tires off the 01 and put them on the 03). They also dyno identically on MTI's dyno. I have made a number of 1/4 runs in both cars. The Coupe has hit 111.85 trap speed, the Convertible 111.95. I have the time slips to back that up.
