Interesting that at 100 pollers.. 50% of those polling here said their ebrake works fine... and 50% say it doesnt... even though 600 people looked at the thread.,.. its hard to say what a real average would be.. but IM guessing alot of people have received their C5 with a perfectly adjusted e brake.. KNowing that the ebrake sytems hasnt changed.. this tells me that everyone can have a properly adjusted ebrake.. And Most of the ranting is from those obviously unhappy... This issue left to most dealerships will not get resolved,, But for those with an MN6 its improtant that you adjusted it... and it can be made to hold you car like it should.
You just will not give up on the idea that the C5's ebrake is a bad design. 35 replys saying their ebrake works vs. 67 saying it sucks on the poll. That's 2 to 1 against the design, not- 50-50 as you posted, and almost everyone that posted a reply stated they were not happy with the ebrakes preformance. Also. I don't believe the view count is from individual members, if a single member views the topic multiple times, it adds to the count. By the way, my 80 year old mother says she will keep her M-B, she says she can't handle removing the rear wheels/tires, brake rotors/calipers to adjust her ebrake if she were to buy a Corvette. She would rather be playing cards with the other Blue Hairs in her retirement community. Her car came from the factory with the ebrake in operating order and if there was a problem, she wants a car in which the dealer can fix the problem. I sersously doubt if there are very many of the 210,000 C5 owners that want to spend a Sunday afternoon every couple of months trying to adjust their ebrake while marveling at the wonderful design.
JoesC5 your obviously a grumpy old man.... a ranter and a trouble maker.. my post and efforts are to try to help those who would like their ebrake to work and given them hope... I ve fixed over a dozen ebrakes right in my garage from guys who said they tried... their coments after my adjustment.. was OH..... I fixed my ebrake One time... 45,000 miles ago and four years ago.. and it can stop on a dime with just the ebrake... you need to get laid my friend...
