Default Headers and catback combo......sound questions

I'm in the market for a set of headers and a new catback. Questions.....

On my bolt-on only car how will adding headers affect exhaust sound?
Does it just add more volume, or does it also add bass?
I'm thinking of going with TPIS headers and GHL exhaust, but don't know what kind of exhaust note I'll get and how loud it will be?
I have Corsa Indy's with no headers right now and want to get a deeper tone, but without too much volume.
This is my wife-friendly daily driver.
BTW - it pisses me off that a stock mustang with just crappy flowmasters sounds so much better than my vette. :U

Thanks all!

Headers will make it a little louder and a little deeper in bass...

I had TPIS headers on my car with corsa Indy's, i didnt like the headers due to leaks i was getting on the (non weld, clamp type fitting areas) i then switched to FLP system - which was a true 100% complete bolt on system and the sound increased both in loudness and deepness, revs were faster, and the best part no leaks.

I get many compliments on my car's sound with this set-up

I just installed FLP's with high flow cats and x-pipe mated to my Corsa Indy's. Not only are they LOUDER but over 4000 RPM's down right NASTY. I had a buddy following me the other day (windows up and ac on) and he could hear me several car in front of him. It will change the entire character of the car - for the better. I like to roll into the throttle around 3500 RPM in 1st gear when I'm near a ricer or Mustang. They usually back way off now.

I have TPIS with B&B catbacks and after adding the X-pipe from LGM it definitely gave it a deeper sound. I agree with what you are saying about the Stang's!

I have TPIS, GHLs and an x pipe. Sound is deep and :reddevil Quiet in the car cruising so the wife should be happy. I am having problems with TPIS slip fit leaking.
