After start up with a new Vararam installed I have the check engine light on. I removed a K&N kit with no problems that I know of. The only other change was going back to the stock air bridge.
During the install I hit the 3 wire connector going to the MAF hard enough to knock the red wire loose. I tried to reseat the wire by pushing it back into the connector. I have no way of checking the connection. Would this cause the problem or is something else wrong?
Re: After Vararam install, check engine light? (jlmvett)
There are hundreds of reasons for the CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. I'd be 100% certain you have a good connection on the wire that broke loose before doing anything else. Don't you have a tester to check continuity???
Re: After Vararam install, check engine light? (jlmvett)
Chances are it's the MAF connector, rest your codes and start the car to see if the check engine light comes back on. Who knows maybe if you reset your codes it'll go away
Re: After Vararam install, check engine light? (jlmvett)
Thanks for the input. No, I do not have a test meter. My tool chest is limited to basic hand tools. Until the C5 I have not modified any of my cars, Vettes included. One of the reasons for not doing anything was the electronics and a lack of knowledge about them.
Now, for the next stupid question, how do I reset codes?

Thanks to everyone who heped me out.
The code generated was P0102 MAF sensor circuit low freq. A fellow forum member had to the right tools to fix the broken connecter and a Predator that not only read the code but was able to reset it. AND he made house calls!
This type of help in the Corvette community makes me glad I have hung around for more years than I care to mention.
Thanks again to everyone who offered help.
