Whats the most bang for the buck doing a cam swap staying with my existing LS1 heads...I have a Blackwing TPIS LT's and the Stingers ...and how much can I expect to spend.
Not sure what other requirement you have but the MTI Stealth is a great cam...not too agressive...just right. Idles very near stock and has great performance improvement....sorry no dyno to prove it. You can use existing heads with a spring upgrade. Give Jayson a call at MTI.
There's about a hundred cams out there, you can't just ask for best bang for buck without putting some other definisitions on it.
If you call "bang for buck" "horsepower per dollar", then the LG G5X2 is probably up there near or at the top. If you consider "bang for buck" drivability, quiet valvetrain, spring reliability, smooth idling, and stealthy, then a small B1 cam from MTI might be the best bang for buck.
You need to figure out how much you want to compromise for horsepower.
In the end, it should cost around $600-$850 for the cam package, then you need to install it, and $500 for tuning.
Within the last two weeks I did pretty much the same thing you are talking about. I went from only having a Blackwing and Corsa Exhaust (Indy), to a cam and headers but keeping the stock heads. I am very happy with my 68rwhp gain from my 21st Century MC cam.
Good luck, and enjoy! I am very happy with the results. After the initial work, I went back and had them put in a BPP Vortex Air Ram intake. I am also thinking about 390 gears for my M6 so that I can get into my power band quicker.

Are you expecting to pass emissions? If so, then your selections get narrowed down. Most of the 224/224 - 114 cams are aggressive and still pass emissions. I'm sure there are others.
If you aren't worried a rats butt about emissions, see LG Motorsports for their cam only package..

So true, important to some!
