I installed the SW C5R lights this weekend. Not as easy a job as the instructions would sugget. Took 11 hours, wih a couple of brakes. The fit didn't turn out that good with new holes needing to be drilled to line things up. The HID option also keeps blowing the fuse. I up'd the rating to 15A and now things seem OK. Any one else had this issue with HID lights?
Yup, fit and finish could be better (but it's not as bad as the trouble I had with another nameless product). It would be nice if they fixed the mounting so you don't get the old vibrating lamp issue (wedged mine in). And yes the HID does draw more current on startup, and you have to replace the fuse with a higher rated one. However, the steady state current is actually lower, so I have not bothered to upgrade to relay controllers. I have not seen a "perfect" non-popup unit yet (not to say they are not out there).

They are a great setup. I know I bought a set and then sold them later to another member here (never installed them). I guess I just wanted to stay with the pop-ups for now.
The HID setup (for C5R or Euro) is a great choice as well. Yes, you need to run a slightly higher fuse (15A I believe).
I've got the HID setup on my Euro lights. Works great and illuminates the road MUCH better.
