I have a 2000 C-5 with 6m and am experiencing a sparodic problem with the clutch. At times the clutch pedal moves with friction, then at other times it is very free..almost like the bushings (if there are bushings) were lubed. It does this when the car is cold or hot. Is this a serious concern? If it is a lube issue is it some thing I can do myself ar does it need to be on a lift? Clutch operates fine otherwise.
Mine does similar things. The clutch is pretty hard to push in most of the time. If I let the car sit for a couple days or so the clutch is very easy at first but then gets harder quickly.
This is a documented problem with the slave cylinder. Other signs of the slave issue are the pedal not coming back up or going halfway to the floor under hard acceleration.
Some have said that bleeding the clutch system resolves this issue but I'm nore sure for how long since the slave will still have the issue. The one thing known to fix this is replacing the slave (and some replace the master) with '03 Z06 parts which are re-designed to not have these issues. Pretty major work to have a lighter pedal which is why I haven't done it. I may try bleeding the clutch one day but even that is a hassle.
