Just go - it will learn the difference in about 50 miles. I varied my RPMs while I did it with a WOT here and there.

Sorry - the ultimate thrill (when done in safe environment) - wide open throttle - so the brain gets to see all the variables.

Personally, I would do the idle relearn process. Yeah you don't really have to since over time the car will self adjust, but I'm just picky about my car. The PCM is a little different in the 97-99 cars and the relearn takes a series of additional steps. With that in mind I'd rather do the relearn upfront instead of having to wait some determinate amount of time before it adjusts.

I had mine put on in Bowling Green at the Cruise In. I didn't do anything but drive it home & have had no problems with it at all. :steering:

I just put mine on and started driving. Checked with my tuner first and that's what he recommended.

I had no problems when I installed it on my 97. Just put it on and went. When put the car up for sale I put the old Air Cleaner back on the car but a month later the purchaser wanted to buy the Blackwing so I put it back on. No problem going either way.

Bolt it on and just drive for about 50 miles. Car will do the rest.

The car will take care of itself. I had no problems whatsoever after the switch. Just drive it and enjoy.
