I have just bought a TRAP intake system. Before I install it, I am just curious if I should do anything else to get the full effect from it. I have an 02 coupe, I have installed the Z06 screens, but I still have the factory "close-out" boxes behind them so there is no airflow advantage. Do I need to do anything different to this or just install the TRAP and go?
I installed the TRAP a couple of months ago. I would either remove the foglight shrouds or drill a few large holes in them. Also, when you're installing it, don't skip the step that tells you to cut about an inch off of the styrofoam on the bumber where the TRAP will rest against it. You DO need that clearance. I didn't do it because it was too hard to get to to cut. As a result I had to really stretch the front fascia to get it back in place and it's still not totally even. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Did you have the 6" filter or 6.5"?
I had trouble with my lower valance too. It was said that the smaller filter should not require trimming the foam.

Do you have a link to this? I have the installation cd, downloaded the one from the website and read the instructions on the site.....

I got the big filter, and didn't have to do this step. mine fit in there great. I just took my time, and fit everything in there loosely, until I got it just right, and then tightened it up.
Bill has recently I'm almost sure got some anazing#'s with a few before and after Trap systems amd I believe we may have stored the data.I want to quote a # but with that and an FLP type exhaust with stainless works header.Stinger cat back and the Trap on the car, well I wont quote by memory.480-517-4969,or contact us on our link under XtremeMotorSports,Dave Smilovic
ALLKAR: I'm not sure what size filter I have. When I bought it I was unaware that there was more than one. Unless they changed it, I don't see how you could fit it under the bumber without some cutting though.
Mean Blue: I just downloaded the instructions from Halltech's web site.
I'd be happy to offer advice to someone installing this system. It was a bit of a knuckle buster, but I do like the system.
