Helps some. By saying that the "H" is History, I assume that I can clear them and they won't come up again? How do I clear them? Also explain more on what the letters PCM, BCM IPC mean are are these bad to have these codes come up. Sorry, I am really new to this and don't understand this very much.
BCM -Body Control Module
PCM - Powertrain Control Module
IPC - Instrument Panel Cluster
Yes you can clear history codes , but I'm not sure how to do it. Some one will chime in and give you the method of clearing the codes and let you know if it's a problem or just a dead battery that sent codes to the computer or just a one time glitch. Sorry I can't be of more help... Good luck.
PS. Nice looking 99HT. Check out my profile pic.
:D
All the modules in the C5 communicate with each other. The PCM and ABS modules take priority over all others.Because of this,it is normal to have some communications codes stored in the other modules from time to time, such as RFA,IPC,LDCM,RDCM,etc...
If you have a "loss of communications" code stored in the PCM or ABS modules, then you have a problem :yesnod: ;)
Rich, Go to: http://www.stengel.net/diccodes.htm This will give you all of the C5 codes and how to find and delete them. Note that "diccodes" has two "c's". If you have a copier, crank it up and have at least eight pages loaded and print the whole shebang. :D :D
