Has anyone had problems with their Eradispeed rotors warping. I'm getting alot of pulsating during stopping. My rotors have about 15 thousand miles on them. I double checked to make sure there on the correct side and they are. No stress cracks that I can see. Normal driving only. Any help would be appreciated. Also I have stock pads.
1. Did you check the calipers for lube, resiliency, and movement ?
2. Did you check bearings for free play ?
3. Did you check torque of lug nuts ?
4. Did you check rotors for thickness tolerance and runout tolerance ?
5. Is it possible that the pads are glazed or worn unevenly ?
6. What type of vibration are you feeling ? Is it in the steering wheel or does it feel like rotational skipping
7. As someone else already mentioned, did you season the rotors/pads ?
8. Did you panic stop in the near past ?. If you did, it would be wise to inspect the braking system as suggested above, or find a competent mechanic to diagnose it for you.
Beckel, Yes I did torque the lug nuts. I'm hoping the pads are glazed. The vibration isn't in the steering wheel. It feels like rotational skipping to me. I did season and bed rotors the pads. The calipers seemed to move freely when I installed the new rotors 15 thousand miles ago. Yes one panic stop recently but the car already had the vibration. Thanks in advance for any information.
I have similar problem with mine, and Baer blamed it on the pads and some buildup, then my wheel cleaner, and finally ceramincite (sp). Dealing with rick at Baer so shoot him an email specifically. RickE@baer.com
Basically he told me to tighten/torque the lugnuts and re-season the rotors with 4-6 panic stops from 70 to 35 mph in quick session.
I am on my second set of eradi's and I do race. man that is a lot of beef to warp, I don't think it is that. Also change you brake fluid, you may have some moisture in it. Bleed them real well. Could be the pads. What kind do you have? Not sure if I seen it above but did you check run-out? Also too much grease in the sliders on the calipers will cause them to freeze up. Sort of a Vacuum lock.
I had problems with one of the rears squeeling after about 30 mph. I called Baer and he told me to check if the hand brake pad was rubbing the inside of the rotor and it was. I turned the little wheel so that hand brake pads were all the way closed. That worked, no more noise......
